Once active, it changes the formula of the game – if a Pokémon faints in battle, it cannot be revived and only the first Pokémon encountered in a new area can be caught. This is enabled at the start of the game and cannot be turned off. It also includes an ultra-hard difficulty known as 'Nuzlocke Mode'.
